걸그룹 '쥬얼리' 4기 출신 배우 예원이 최근 출연했던 넷플릭스 오리지널 '수리남'에 대한 비화를 공개했다.
20일 방송된 MBC FM4U ‘정오의 희망곡 김신영입니다’에는 배우 예원이 출연했다.
예원은 앞서 지난 9일 공개된 넷플릭스 오리지널 '수리남' 속 '전요한'(황정민)의 연인이자 '사모님' 역할을 맡아 열연을 펼쳤다.
이에 예원은 오디션을 통해 합류하게 됐다며 "그때 당시 오디션은 비대면 영상으로 먼저 보냈다. 영상이 어느 정도추려지면 최종으로 감독님 미팅을 가지는 과정이었다"고 설명했다.
알려진 바로는 '500:1' 경쟁률을 기록한 '사모님' 역할 오디션이라는 언급에 예원은 "아마 더했을 것. 여자 캐릭터가 많지 않아 하고 싶은 분들이 많은 걸로 알고 있다. 차라리 비대면으로 보낸 것이 긴장감이 덜했다. 대면 오디션을 갈 때 너무 떨렸다. 감독님도 저인 줄 모르셨다고 하더라"고 말했다.
캐스팅된 이유에 대해서는 "저도 궁금했는데 비대면 영상을 받고 '너무 잘했다'고 말해주셔서 감사하다고 말씀드렸다. 메이크업과 헤어도 생각을 하셨는데 '그런 것들을 입혔을 때 잘 어울릴 것 같다', '연기를 하고 싶은 욕심과 열정이 보여 가능성이 있을 것 같다'고 말씀해주셨다"고 전했다.
또 그는 "주변에서 저인 줄 몰랐다고 하는 분도 꽤 많았다. 저로서는 굉장히 성공적이다"라고 말하며 만족감을 드러냈다.
한편 '수리남'은 남미국가 수리남을 장악한 무소불위의 마약 대부로 인해 누명을 쓴 한 민간인이 국정원의 비밀 임무를 수락하며 벌어지는 이야기를 그렸다. '범죄와의 전쟁'(2012) '공작'(2018) 등을 연출한 윤종빈 감독이 맡은 넷플릭스 시리즈다.
