그룹 스트레이 키즈(Stray Kids)가 '2023 빌보드 뮤직 어워드'의 첫 트로피를 들어올렸다.
스트레이 키즈(방찬, 리노, 창빈, 현진, 한, 필릭스, 승민, 아이엔)는 20일 오전 10시(한국시간) 미국 라스베이거스 MGM 그랜드 가든 아레나에서 개최된 '2023 빌보드 뮤직 어워드'('2023 BBMAs')에서 '톱 K팝 앨범(Top K-Pop Album)' 부문을 수상했다.
스트레이 키즈는 단체 인사와 함께 벅찬 수상 소감을 전했다.
먼저 방찬은 "스테이(팬덤명) 여러분들께 감사의 인사를 전한다. 여러분들의 사랑과 응원이 없었다면 아마 여기까지 오지 못했을 것이다. 빌보드 여러분들께도 감사의 인사를 전하고 싶다"고 말했다.
이어 "저희가 앞으로 선보일 음악과 무대, 그리고 사랑에 보답할 것을 약속드린다. 스테이 여러분 감사합니다!"라고 했다.
창빈은 "스테이 여러분들 감사하다. 우리가 말도 안 되게 값진 상을 받게 됐다. 스테이의 많은 사랑 덕분에 저희도 더 힘을 내서 멋진 음악으로 돌아올 수 있었고 좋은 앨범으로 여러분들을 찾아뵐 수 있었다"며 "저희의 고증이 담긴 앨범과 음악을 사랑해주셔서 감사하다. 앞으로도 멋진 모습 많이 보여드리겠다"고 이야기했다.
스트레이 키즈는 수상뿐만 아니라 해당 시상식에서 정규 3집 '파이브스타' 타이틀곡 '특', 새 앨범 '락스타(樂-STAR)' 타이틀곡 '락 (樂)' 무대를 펼쳤다. 'BBMAs'에서 퍼포머로 나선 K팝 보이그룹은 방탄소년단(BTS)에 이어 스트레이 키즈가 사상 두 번째다.
스트레이 키즈는 트로피를 거머쥔 '톱 K팝 앨범' 부문 외에 '톱 글로벌 K팝 아티스트(Top Global K-Pop Artist)' 부문에도 노미네이트 됐지만 해당 부문에는 그룹 뉴진스가 트로피를 들어올렸다.
한편, 스트레이 키즈는 지난 10일 발매된 미니 8집 '락스타'로 빌보드 메인 앨범 차트인 '빌보드 200'(11월 25일 자) 1위를 차지했다. 이로써 스트레이 키즈는 '오디너리(ODDINARY)', '맥시던트(MAXIDENT)', '★★★★★ (파이브스타)'에 이어 새 앨범 '樂-STAR'(락스타)까지 네 작품 연속 '빌보드 200' 1위라는 대기록을 달성했다.
