심리 추적 스릴러 ‘괴물’은 만양에서 펼쳐지는 괴물 같은 두 남자의 이야기를 그린다. '괴물은 누구인가! 너인가, 나인가, 우리인가'라는 질문을 끊임없이 던지며 사건 이면에 숨겨진 인간의 다면성을 치밀하게 쫓는다. '열여덟의 순간', '한여름의 추억'의 심나연 감독과 ‘매드독’ 김수진 작가가 의기투합해 완성도를 높인다.
이날 공개된 티저 포스터에서는 ‘연기 괴물’ 신하균, 여진구의 진가를 고스란히 느낄 수 있다. 무언가를 집요하게 쫓는 두 남자의 예리하고 깊은 눈빛이 보는 이들의 시선을 단숨에 옭아맨다.
먼저, 신하균의 짙고 어두운 눈동자가 호기심을 자극한다. 그가 연기하는 이동식은 무서울 것 없는 강력계 형사였지만, 지금은 변두리 파출소에서 온갖 잡일을 도맡고 있는 인물이다. 20년 전 자신의 인생을 송두리째 뒤바꾼 희대의 연쇄 살인 사건과 다시 마주하며 삶이 요동치게 된다. 서늘하게 가라앉은 눈빛 속에 스치는 들끓는 감정이 왠지 모를 위태로움을 더해 소름을 유발한다.
