Friday Night Funkin’ (  fnf) is an open-source rhythm game that first launched in 2020 and quickly became a phenomenon thanks to its simple yet engaging gameplay and unique art style that blends retro and internet memes. In the game, players take on the role of Boyfriend — a chibi-style cartoon character — and engage in dramatic “rap battles” with a variety of opponents, from Daddy Dearest to community-created characters. The gameplay revolves around pressing the seven arrow keys (WASD + arrows ↑ ← ↓) to match the notes displayed on the screen, to the vibrant rhythm of funk, EDM, hip-hop, or chiptune music.
